If you’ve done any comparative research on the cost of assisted reproductive technology (ART), you probably already know that one of the best ways to lower the cost of any process, whether it’s egg donation or surrogacy, is to look outside the United States where ART fees are among the highest in the world*. With this in mind, we traveled all over the globe looking at clinics, labs, and even other agencies we felt adhered the same standards of care our clients would receive in the U.S. but offered these services at much lower prices.

After personally vetting everything from egg freezing labs to surrogate housing, we’re excited to announce our partnership with a leading fertility clinic in Western Ukraine. This partnership will allow clients for whom assisted reproduction was previously cost prohibitive to pursue their dream of becoming parents and we’re beyond excited to have found them!

Why Do We Offer Surrogacy in Ukraine?

Having started in the field of IVF and infertility nearly 20 years ago, we are industry veterans who saw a huge gap in the surrogacy experience. After meeting couple after couple for whom assisted reproduction of any kind was cost prohibitive, or intended parents who were all but financially tapped out due to failed IVF cycles or adoptions gone awry, we realized there was an enormous need for affordable surrogacy options.

After extensive research, endless questions, and field trips to the Ukraine, we partnered with only the doctors and facilitators we felt were completely aligned with the same standards of care intended parents would find in the U.S. Throughout our entire process, we took the approach that we would only provide this service if we felt we could provide the surrogacy experience we would want for ourselves on every level: medically, philosophically, and ethically. We felt so strongly about this that we made it part of our mission statement.

So many intended parents are (understandably) unaware of how many pitfalls and opportunists there are in the surrogacy, especially when it comes to engaging in a surrogacy abroad. It’s our goal to not only advocate for our clients, but to clear the snakes out of the grass so they can walk through the surrogacy process unharmed.

Mission Statement:

We aim to facilitate international surrogacies in a way that complies with the medical, philosophical, or ethical standards of care we would want if we were intended parents.

How Does It Work?

As professionals with almost 20 years in the industry, we take the selection and vetting of our surrogates very seriously. All surrogates have been both medically and psychologically screened before their profiles are even sent to you (this is not the case in the U.S.) and have been interviewed extensively by our very experienced staff. Ranging in age from 20-36, our surrogates have all had successful, problem-free pregnancies of their own and for the most part, are educated professionals.

In addition to routine medical screening, we also conduct drug tests on five separate occasions before starting the surrogacy process and provide constant support before, during, and after pregnancy. We provide on-going psychological counseling to our surrogates as well as a monthly food stipend, prenatal vitamins, and an allowance for maternity clothing.

As in any surrogacy done in the U.S., a surrogacy coordinator will manage the logistics of your surrogacy, making sure the surrogate makes all her appointments and keeping you informed every step of the way. In addition to managing the process during the pregnancy, we will also be of assistance once you come to Ukraine for the birth. We arrange everything from hotels to appointments with local pediatricians after the birth. We’ll even help you with things like car seats and clothing. Needless to say, we will also take care of all the necessary documentation you will need to take your baby home and start your life as a family!

How Does The Embryo Transfer Work?

Once you’ve chosen your donor with the help of our donation coordinators, we will then need to make arrangements with your local clinic to collect your partner’s semen for processing. That semen will then be frozen and sent to our clinic in Ukraine for injection into the donor eggs (at which point they will become embryos). Based on the quality and number of embryos, our embryologist will then determine how many to transfer either to you, or your surrogate.

If you prefer, you can always provide fresh semen at our actual clinic in Ukraine. Should you decide to take this route, we will be happy to assist you with travel arrangements as well as any documentation you will need to complete this process.
